Woo hoo!!! After much trial and error, the cover for my new cookbook is ready. I’m so excited! I wanted to show it to you guys to see if you like it (fingers crossed!).
I must share that I had more than a little help with the book. My hubby, sister and mom were instrumental in getting this book written. Their kitchen skills and my sister’s editing skills made this book what it is. It’s got my sassy mouth in it (sans cuss words, believe it or not) but it’s got the love and dedication of my wonderful family on every page too. I’ll never be able to thank them enough!!
Also, two of my wonderful blogger buddies contributed to it.
Bernadette of Rants From My Crazy Kitchen blogging fame contributed 2 recipes to the book. They are so good they make me drool every time I read them!
Kimberley of Face Like a Frying Pan blogging fame created Sparky the Dragon for me. He’s a little surprise that you’ll find within the book.
Big thanks to both of them for their help!!!
The book would be less without your amazing contributions!!!
The book is slated for release at the very end of October or the first few days of November. It’ll be in printed versions in both color and black & white and on Kindle. It’ll eventually be on Nook too.
Have I mentioned how excited I am???? A LOT of blood, sweat and tears went into writing this book (literally, not figuratively!), but it was worth it all. When I hold it in my hands it makes me so happy and proud.
Yay cookbook!

YAY! Cool cover for it. The question is … is he doing all the cooking while you oversea and consume copious amounts of alcohol and random comments?
Creative Chefs and Reluctant Cooks love that title. I’m reluctantly creative .. or is that creatively reluctant
Yep. You nailed it!!! He does 98% of the cooking while I stand back, drinking wine and watching his butt. It’s heaven!!!
I’m so glad you like the title!! It took forever to figure it out, but I liked the end result. I’m sooooo glad you like it too!
If you’re like me, you are reluctantly creative!
So how many photos did it take to keep your eyes up and not on his butt?
420,000,000. It’s hard not looking at his tush! It’s freaking adorable!
I actually have quite a few pics that we couldn’t use cause he was checking out my rack! I was dying laughing while going through the pics. He’s such a goofball!
LMAO Love it
We are such pervs!
The title should have been Darn Good Pervs … lol or is that the next book
Definitely the name for the next book!
Congrats on the new book!! Can’t wait for it to come out……Need some help on some great recipes and know this will do the trick!!
And just love the cover. Is that your handsome hubby on the cover with you? If so, what a beautiful couple you are!!
Thank you!!! You are so sweet! And yeah, that’s my honeybear. He’s such a sport. I love that smile of his.
I hope you love the cookbook. It’s full of great recipes and you’ll definitely be able to tell I wrote it. I don’t cuss 20 times on each page (shocking!), but it’s definitely got sass in it.
XOXOXO
It’s wonderful! And I LOVE the title.
If you can judge a book by it’s cover (and we know people do), you’ve got a sure-fire winner on your hands!
From your mouth to God’s ear!!! Thank you! What a sweet thing to say. I sure hope people love it. It’s quite different from any cookbook I’ve ever read, so I’m hoping people like its odd take on what a cookbook can be. Oh, and I hope they love all the recipes too!
XOXO
Perfect cover, Jodi..and the title is exceptional…nice job!
I just have to wonder if we’re witnessing the birth of the first R-rated cookbook…:)
You are too damn funny!!! And thank you! I’m so glad you like the cover and the title.
I gotta tell ya, it was hard not being too mouthy in the book, but I was determined not to use the F-word even once! NOT EASY!!
Oh, that shouldn’t be a problem…here, I’ll help you:
flour
frappe
fritter
farina
feta
fettucini
filet
filling
fish and chips
flambe
flan
flapjack
flatbread
florentine
foie gras
fontina
frankfurter
french toast
fried
frittata
frosting
fry
fudge
There you go…problem solved
Oh crap! I have at least 10 F-words in my book! I’m doomed to be a potty-mouth!!
(Nice list by the way. Well done!)
Should’ve named it 50 Shades of Sauce…
Dying laughing over here.
On the serious side, would you like to do an interview with me when your book comes out? I’m doing a series of them, if you didn’t see…
Oh my gosh! That would be awesome!! Really? SWEET!!! I didn’t see your series on them. I’m a post-missing-doofus. Send me a link.
How fun!! Totally kick ass.
Easssssy…geez. Calm down
To to the front page and scroll down…you’ll see a category list, and it’s the “Chatting with the Authors” category. Check it out. when is your book out?
I’m an excitable gal!
I’ll go check it out now.
The book is due out at the very end of October or the first few days of November. I can’t wait.
Your interviews look awesome.
I’d love to.
Cool! email me at steelerfutball57@yahoo.com, and I’ll send you the questionnaire. Fill it out and send it back. When your book hits the stands, we’ll do the interview. Also send me any links you want to show – twitter, facebook, blog, etc, and we’ll get you scheduled in. See if we can’t boost sales a little
My hero!
Now, all my interviews are PG-13…soooooo
I’ll be a good girl, I promise.
And by the way, I just received an order for your book from one of my pals on facebook. And she also posted the link to your article on her wall
Seriously? How freaking cool!!
Can you give me a link to her page? I’ll friend her.
sure…http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1712038494
The title and cover are awesome! I’m starting to discover that I may like cooking so I’m thinking of picking this book up when it’s out! In this case, I don’t mind it not being on the Nook yet cuz cookbooks are better in print…I wouldn’t want to take my Nook to the kitchen! Very cool Jodi, and I’m shocked you didn’t curse. What? Who are you?
You really are a sweetie!
If you do get it, I hope you love it. It’s got a nice mix of challenging vs. easy-as-pie recipes, so since you are just discovering cooking, this will be a good start for you. You can begin with the recipes in my half of the book and as you get more and more skilled, move on to the recipes in the “Grant” section of the book.
As for print vs. digital, I couldn’t agree more when it comes to cookbooks. There’s nothing like having a hard copy when it comes to cookbooks.
Yeah, the non-cursing was hard! I think I say “damn” 3 or 4 times and “hell” once or twice. Other than that, I was a saint! It was NOT EASY!!!
Love the cover and the idea! Congrats on finishing yet another project.
Thank you, Miss Sylvia!
I’m glad you like the cover. It’s exactly what happens in our kitchen on a daily basis! Though I did just make homemade spaghetti sauce on Tuesday, so I occasionally (rarely) do my part.
Just checking, is that your husband, Grant, on the cover? He would make an awesome Thor in a movie!
Yep! That’s my baby! It’s so funny you mention that he’d make a good Thor (thank you, by the way). I never let on if I have a celebrity crush but my hubby has figured out that I’m a little partial to Thor. I tell him, “It’s cause you look like him! He reminds me of my honey!”
That’s a slam dunk for a cover! Looks great Jodi, hope you sell a million of them.
Thank you!!! You are such a sweetheart.
I hope I do too!
XO
I can’t cook to save my life, but my brother can. I’ll definitely pick up a copy for him.
Hey there, doll.
You are so sweet!!! It should be out in just a few weeks. Thanks so much!!
Now, as for not being able to cook–neither can I! Half the book (my half) has recipes for people who can’t or hate to cook so that when they are forced to do it, they can find an easy recipe.
The other half is definitely for your brother.
Love the cover!! You are such a good-looking couple. I am so excited for you. It must feel awesome to see all of your hard work come to life in a real “in the flesh” book! Congratulations!! It couldn’t happen to a sweeter person!!
Thank you so much for the shout out and for giving Sparky somewhere to live!!
Thank you! You are too kind.
I love my honey’s handsome face.
I’m really excited too! And it just wouldn’t be the same without Sparky (I LOVE that name–well done!). When I got my first proof of it it really did feel amazing to touch it and hold it and know that I’d created it. Such a wonderful feeling. I can’t wait until you see Sparky in action. He’s just perfect!
I’ll be the first one ordering a copy for sure! =)
You are the cutest thing!
XOXXXO
Hi, Jodi! Thanks so much for the mention. I can almost guarentee you that if I ever publish my own cookbook, there literally WILL be blood and tears!! Maybe not sweat, because I rarely do that, but that’s another story
You are very welcome my dear! Your recipes are standouts!
In one of my recipes I show the result of my thumb vs. a cheese grater. Yep, I lost. There was blood and tears everywhere! Ahhh…the lengths I’ll go to for my cookbook.
Thanks again for the recipes. They are great.
I just can’t wait to get my copy, then I think I’m going to do a giveaway one also
That is so cool!!!
I’ll let you know the second they are available.
I’m writing a blog post about the cookbook and you right now
You are the sweetest thing on 2 legs! That’s awesome!!!
I’m heading out right now and won’t be home until late tonight, but I’ll check it out when I get back. Thanks so much dear! I’m so happy that your recipes are in there too. They truly are fantastic!
Congratulations!!!
Thank you! I’m so excited.
Lovely, and congrats!
Thank you, Kat!
It’s been so much fun writing the cookbook.
Great Looking Couple !! I would buy it on the cover alone. Congrats
Awwww!! Thank you!! You are such a sweetheart!
Nice! I will have to get your cook book and hopefully maybe you could autograph it!!
You are so cute!!
I’d love to!
It’ll be out soon. I’ll do a post when it’s available. Thanks for being so supportive and nice.
It looks fantastic. Can’t wait to read it!!
Thank you, pretty lady!!!
XOXO
It takes one to know one.
Awww…shucks.
Oh I love the cover, but tell the hubby to watch those fingers. I may have to make this book a Christmas gift for Kristen. I always loves getting cook books.
Thank you, doll!!
I constantly have kitchen accidents, but the hubby could juggle knives and be okay. He’s magical like that.
I always buy Grant 2-3 cookbooks every Christmas. There is something awesome about getting a present that you know will bring you good things for years to come. If you get one for Kristin (which would kick ass!) let me know what you make out of it.
Way to go – the cover looks great.
Thank you!! We had so much fun in the photo shoot. I’m glad you liked the way it turned out.
Congratulations Jodi!! Is very nice. Let us know when we can buy it for kindle
Congratulations! The cover looks great!
Thank you! I’m so glad you like it. Getting a pic where we at least one of us doesn’t look like a doofus is a huge challenge!
I love cook books which is a little strange since I can hardly cook…………lol
My dear, I’m right there with you. I bet I own 30 cookbooks and I can hardly cook. Now, I know that sounds odd from a cookbook writer. Luckily half the recipes are from the hubby for people who love cooking and half of the recipes are mine for people who can’t or hate to cook but still have to sometimes. I figure people like you and me need a cookbook too!
They can’t all be only for master chefs!
