As you may have already read, I’ll be hosting my own radio show probably some time in August. Yay! My wonderful publicist/agent/manager came up with a few names that I wanted to put in front of you guys to see which ones you like.
Here are his suggestions for a show that will air on Wednesdays at 11:00 pm Eastern:
- Pillow Talk with Jodi Ambrose
- Happy Endings with Jodi Ambrose (My husband already put the kibosh on this one, but it made me laugh out loud. I guess it does make me sound like a hooker or a cheap masseuse in a run down building)
- The Mid-Week Hump with Jodi Ambrose (Since it’s going to air on hump-day)
So, my challenge to you is this–vote on the one you like the best and if you have any other suggestions, leave me a comment with your suggestion. If anyone comes up with a name that isn’t on my publicists list and we use it, I will send you copies of my books and give you some serious props on my first show! 🙂 Woo hoo!!
Thanks you guys!!! You rule! 🙂
My first thought was to do with an old song – though I can’t remember who it was by “Let’s talk about sex, baby”
For what you will be talking about, Pillow Talk won’t appeal to a lot of people, but by using the double-entendre of mid-week hump, it will get a lot more listeners in (in my opinion anyway). Wish i could listen in, but I’m in the UK

Thank you for the help!!! I love the “Let’s talk about sex, baby” idea! I think my publicist stayed away from the word “sex” because the show is going to be eclectic and we’re gonna talk about all kinds of stuff. Believe it or not, occasionally a thought outside of sex pops into my head. It’s rare, but it happens. 🙂 XOXO
And just so ya know, there will be a podcast of it, so anyone, anywhere can listen to it after it airs live. 🙂 Once I have all the details, I’ll do another post. Hugs!

I dont have an xact name suggestion, but I’m thinking you should play off your name -Ambrose is so close to “ambrosia” which means “food of the gods” or “something delicious in taste and smell” ….Jodi’s Ambrosia? Something like that maybe….

OOOOOHHHH!!! Food of the Gods…that is awesome! Nice correlation. I’d never thought of that. 🙂 Great suggestion, MJ. 🙂

It’s gotta be number one – three is just as bad as two… Mid-week hump? Crime in Italy, Chuck that’s terrible.

“Crime in Italy? Chuck that’s terrible?” Holy cow that made me laugh!!! 🙂 At least 3 doesn’t give you a specific image like #2 does. 😉 It’s so funny, my hubby is so easy going but as soon as I (mostly jokingly) read “Happy Endings with Jodi Ambrose” he said immediately, “Yeah, that one’s out. Nope.” That cracked me up!! 🙂 Thanks for the feedback, my dear!

Hi jodie,
none of the poll suggestions seem to fit in my mind. You need something to draw people in, in a friendly way and it needs to be simply put. So here goes hope it helps “Chat time with Jodie Ambrose” I personally would drop the Ambrose and stick to your first name as it is more personal; and people seem to respond to that, so I suppose “Chat with Jodie” would suggest an invitation for your listeners.

Hi athenabrady1! Thank you so much for the thoughtful and great suggestion. I really appreciate it. It’s soooooo hard coming up with a name. I never would have thought it would be so challenging. 🙂 Thanks again for the awesome idea!

Okay, well I LOVED Happy Endings with Jodi… seriously. And for what it’s worth, I just don’t care for either of the other two. :}
The Ambrosia angle is a good one… or what came to mind when you so callously tossed the Happy Endings was something like “Getting to Happily Ever After with Jodi.”
Congrats! :>

Hey Wandering! Happy Endings made me laugh uproariously! As soon as my publicist said it, I burst out laughing. My hubby almost never puts the kibosh on anything, so I figured if he immediately had a gut reaction to that one, that I’d take it out of the running. I love your suggestions. 🙂 They certainly give me something to think about. Sincerely, thank you for taking the time. 🙂

Hi Jodi
I think it should be straight and personal with your first name, I suggest:
“Wednesday’s …….. With JODI ”
((Whisper or Talk or Chat or Smile any word reflect your personality and the Show))
Good Luck 🙂

you likely cannot use, not quite in the rhelm…and your manager would disapprove…but a word comes to mind…more perhaps a topic for discussion once the show is up and running:
i n t e r f o r n i c a t i o n
great sound to it…and the implications are obvious. can be a great release for some and a sticky situation for others yes?
intersted on your thoughts.
and I agree…was going to suggest, but see it has already been done…ambrosia would be a great add to whatever title you choose!
