Amazon is trying to kill me!!

Hey there, everyone!

I wanted to know if any other authors have had this problem on Amazon. My books have garnered incredible 5 star reviews on Amazon since being published. It’s been so delightful to see how many people enjoyed them and are happier now in their relationships. Well, last night I went on to check out the review pages as a few people had let me know that they’d posted reviews and ALL OF THE REVIEWS on one of my books had been removed and over half of the reviews on the other book were gone. WTF????

I called Amazon immediately and the department I need to speak with is closed on weekend. I imagine it’s a glitch, but if anyone else has experienced this, can you let me know how you handled it? This is so weird!! I’ve spent the last year and a half just delighted reading all of them and having them there for others to read and they are just GONE!

I did some research and apparently this does happen sometimes, but its horrifying!!

    • When that book first popped up I was like, “what on earth?” Jodi Ambrose is a very uncommon name, so it was so odd seeing a book with that name as the character. πŸ™‚ I dream for the day that people write books about me. KIDDING!! Lordy, those would be frightening books!! πŸ˜‰

        • Awww…you are so sweet. Glad my rant made you chuckle. I’m such a foul mouthed trollop!! πŸ˜‰

They both have hit the better than top 1% selling books on numerous occasions, so for it now to seem like no one’s ever read them is a bit sucky. πŸ˜‰ Thanks for helping me out. You are such a doll!

      • Thanks for checking, my dear!! There should be 26 for the Sex book and 10 for the Intimacy book. What in the holy hell shit damn poop is going on? Ugh. (You bought the last one? How cool is that???) Of course, at this point, anyone checking out my books will think that no one has ever read the Intimacy book and that only a handful have read the other one. That is soooo icky!!!

        • Yeah, I can see why you’re a bit pissed at them. As an author, you need them reviews to sell more books. (I wanted to be an author once but I was a kid then LOL)

is your book only sold through Amazon?

          • Yep, total suck! Yeah, people are less likely to even consider a book if it appears that no one else has read it. Ugh. The books are all over the place, Barnes and Noble, etc…but Amazon is by far the biggest seller and that’s where most of the reviews are.

Sooooo…you used to be an author??? What’d ya write? I bet your stuff was awesome! πŸ™‚

            • Haha yeah. At the age of 13 (using an abacus…thirtymumble years ago) it was going to be about someone who saw a future version of themselves and had to do something to change it. I still remember part of what I wanted lol

              • Well – what I wanted out of the story is what i meant. I had an ending and a plot, I just had no idea how to write it. LOL.

Just had a look on Barnes and Noble, you have 3 reviews on that including the one from that guy at the Examiner

              • Ooohh…I see. I think that is such a cool concept for a story. Any thoughts on ever making it happen? I know it would be a great read. πŸ™‚ Thanks for checking the B&N site. Amazon is definitely the biggest reseller.

Just so you know, I really appreciate you today. I needed to not be in such a bad mood and you’ve helped me tremendously. πŸ™‚ xoxox

              • I’ve got no intentions of writing now. Got too much to do with two teenagers πŸ˜‰

Glad I could help. I always look forward to seeing your blogs, they usually lift my mood πŸ™‚

    • Hey Brad! It’s sooooo weird. Some of those reviews have been there for over a year. Why on earth would Amazon just remove them? And so many of them? I’m completely flummoxed and a bit peeved to be honest. Good luck with your book! I hope it does GREAT!!!! πŸ™‚

  1. That aint never good when that happens , however you are correct things with amazon happen all the time , my sister get a lots of grief but they have always managed to fix it when she called them .
So I would be pretty confident you’ll be OK once you’ve called them .

Jodi Ambrose has us men down to a science with this guide. She had my attention from begining to end, as she lets us inside of women’s heads on how to keep my wife happy and feeling loved. The book is laugh out loud funny and informative.

Jodi Ambrose helps YOU help your woman help YOU! June 2, 2012
Man is a simple animal, indeed. Everything that he wants or needs is procured through hunting and gathering. But what about one of the things that he is hardwired to need the most: sex? For sex, the path of least resistance usually intersects with legal issues, to say the least.

Enter Jodi Ambrose to the rescue with the open dialogue within Sex: How to Get More of It. It’s not a predator’s handbook on how to snag his latest “conquest”. Instead, it maps out the hows and the whys a man needs to understand in order to learn the nuances of the give and go of compromise with his female companion. This book is essentially the layman’s guide to the psychology of women.

Coming in at a brisk 30 pages, Sex: How to Get More of It is a quick read that is chock full of easy-to-understand information. Ambrose writes in a relaxed voice. She’s not afraid to drop a curse word here or there to spice her witty banter. Don’t let the wit and humor fool you, Ambrose really lets the male reader inside the inner-workings of a successful relationship with women in general.

What did I like about this book? The brevity. The sensibility. For instance, Ambrose lets it be known that there are some instances that it’s ok, and even pertinent, that you lie to keep a level of sanity in the relationship. (Q: “Does this [clothing item] make me look fat?” A: “No.”) I really like Ambrose’s conversational style. If you are easily offended by “adult” language, read Sex: How to Get More of It anyway because of the solid information.

Love it. This book is for girls too. April 5, 2012
This book costs less than 2 venti drinks at starbux but will make you happier alot longer. I read both of her books and loved them both. I read the Intimacy one first, then had to by this one too. Its for men, I know, but the whole time I was reading it I was laughing because I identified with so much of it. I see myself and every guy I’ve ever dated on each page. If you buy her books, you won’t regret it. Very funny and well written and also very true.Show Less

She gets down and dirty in this book. For all the women out their, this is a book you have to read. Book talks about things you might be embarassed to talk about with even your best friend, but they are things that need to be talked about. I strongly reccommend this to every woman, even if you aren’t in a relationship yet. You’ll learn what to do when the time comes. I especailly like the ones on learning how to fight fair. I wish I’d read this years ago.

This book is awesome. I loved it. I especially love #19. If everyone lived by her suggestion, the world would be a happier place. #1 made me laugh like a crazy person. And, while I try not to be a control freak, I know I am, so her advice on that really helped me. Imagine, a book that’s about 60 pages and it really did make my life better. And my marriage. Can’t go wrong with that for 10 dollars. All women should read this. Funny and spot-on.

I bought this book my mistake, thinking it was the book Jodi Ambrose wrote for women. When I received it I thought I’d go on and check it out. I am so glad I did. It had me ROTFLMAO. She really hits the nail on the head. Women, read this because you’ll agree with 95% of what she says. Men, read it, because if we women agree with 95% of it, then you could all learn a thing or two. Think of it as the Bible of Women. You get to learn all the secrets to how we think in 30 pages. Can’t beat that with a stick.

My girlfriend and me read both her books so I’m leaving reviews for both of them. My girlfriend was a little annoyed that I learned all of her secrets after reading this book, and even thought it’s for girls, there are a few raelly good things in this book that guys can learn from to. I kept over hearing my girlfriend laugh while she read it. That’s why I picked it up. It’s a short read and well worth the time. Take it from a guy who is mucho happier and who also finally has a happy girlfriend, buy this book and her other one.

Not only is she hot, but the author raelly knows her stuff. I got this book and her other book for me and my girlfriend and we both loved them. I guess I shouldn’t say she’s hot as I’m breaking the first rule in her book. Hopefully my girlfriend won’t read this review. The book is funny. She doesn’t hold back a single thought in her head and I raelly like that. Guys should read this. Best part is you can get more action without really spending any cash. Thought that was great.

A laugh riot and very insightful December 20, 2011
I bought this book for a good friend of mine and after she finished it (she loved it) she gave it to me thinking I might enjoy it. She was 100% right. This book had me laughing on the floor and while it is for women, I picked up quite a few things that apply to me too. Everyone should follow #19. It’s some of the best advice I’ve ever read and I’ve already applied it to my life. It’s helped me immensely.

I’d highly recommend both this book and the author’s other book for couples. It’s a sure fix to a not so healthy relationship and a great motivator to make good relationships even better.

Well written, entertaining, funny, insightful and down to earth–this book is terrific.

My girlfriend and me love this book November 9, 2011
I bought this book for my girlfriend and she loves it. I watched her laugh and laugh while she did. She read me so many excerpts that it was like listening to it on an audio book.

She said that the book does a great job of explaining men and their quirks. She said that everyone thinks women are so hard to understand, but guys can be hard too. Now she understands men, (I hope that just means me) better. She says she liked how it was direct, witty and got straight to the point, but also told really good stories that backed up what was being said.

I have to tell you, from where I sit, reading this book did us both a favor. She is actually following suggestions from the book, which makes my life so much better. She’s stopped bugging me at all during the 4th quarter of any type of game. How great is that?

If you are a girl, buy this. If you are a guy, buy it for your girl. You won’t regret it.

Another funny, charming, smart, intuitive book from Jodie Ambrose.

my fiance loved the, her words, “change in me” after i read the author’s other book, so i bought this one for her. ha ha. turns out, she loved it. so i thought it couldn’t hurt to read it too. it’s short, so it only took like an hour. as a guy, i absolutely love this book. ladies, you should all read this because she apparently really does understand what guys love and what we freakin hate.

just like i tell my buddies to read her first book, i suggest all women read this one. it’s the best hour you’ll ever spend and it really will change your relationship. i know both books helped our relationship tremendously.

Well, since I shoved the author’s other book into my husband’s face, I thought it only proper to shove this one into my own. I’m so glad I did. Yet again, I laughed my way through her book, but also got a little slap in the face reminder of some of the things I can do to have a happier marriage. My husband does sweet little things for me after having read her first book. Now I remember that I too can do sweet things for him.

I didn’t know that after being married for 200 years that my husband and I would ever just get along so well again. Just goes to show that even a pair of very old dogs can learn new tricks.

The book is simply wonderful. It’s insightful, funny, warm, smartass, and right on the money. What are you waiting for? Go guy the darn thing. It’s a lot cheaper than marriage counseling and far more helpful. Take it from someone that knows.

My ultimate goal is to help you find more joy in your relationship, and I know this book will help you do that.

Turnabout is fair play. LOVED IT. November 3, 2011
Me and my boyfriend read her first book and now he does most of everything on the list–which is awesome from my perspective AND his. I thought it was only fair that I should read this one. I guess I’m one of the first people to read it. Cool. I loved this one tons.

It’s easy to point your finger at your guy and say “If you only did this, we’d be happy!” It’s not always as easy to turn that finger around towards yourself and really see if there is anyhing that you also need to do. This book helped me do that, but not in a, “You should do this!” way. The author seems to really understand human nature and gives advice that makes sense to normal people. I realized, after reading this book, that I do alot of things right, but that I was slacking in other areas–important areas

I have no doubt that my guy is going to be VERY happy I read this. My first goal is to cut back on the nagging. Now I have a better perspective as to why that’s so important. I foresee a very happy weekend coming up and a better life too.

    I now have a great boyfriend October 31, 2011
I bought this for my boyfriend, which initially made him a little mad. Now he’s the happiest guy around cause the book works! She writes all the stuff girls wanna say but don’t. I read it first to make sure I’d want him to read it and I laughed the whole time. She says it like it is, but in a funny and heart warming way. I loved it. My boyfriend who doesn’t read very much loved it too. I even heard his say “Damn! That’s why she’s so nuts!” You would think that would make me mad, but it didn’t. Sometimes I am nuts. But now he understands why I go nuts sometimes.

This book is awesome and I think all men and women should read it. While it helps guys figure out women alot better, it also helps women better understand themselves. I learned alot by reading it also. I think it can help anyone who reads it.

    Amazing book October 10, 2011
This book is a very well written, thoughtful point of view for any couple to read. Regardless if you are new in your relationship, settling into the relationship, or have been together for a while, Jodi Ambrose offers advise that is useful, insightful, and from the heart. To say this book can change how you view a relationship, and how to create a happy romance would be an understatement. The points made on how to enrich a relationship go far beyond the bedroom, and truly into areas every couple should explore more…the information on how guys can get more sex is only the tip of the iceberg! The humor in which she addresses topics offers a level of comfort for a reader that is not often met when reading a relationship book. I have recommended this book to many people, and thank her for her thoughtfulness and willingness to share this with the world.

Great Book – Great Value! October 10, 2011
What a great book – insightful, funny, and refreshingly direct in how it addresses real relationships, not the B.S. we see on TV and in the movies. The author clearly has an understanding about the innermost workings of both the male and female minds, and this book would be of equal value to both sexes, even though targeted to men. Even if you just follow a few of the ideas in this book, you are bound to create a new spark (or rekindle an old one) in your relationship.

My wife finally likes me again October 6, 2011
My wife bought this for me and I was so mad at first. But after reading the first 2 pages I was already laughing, so I kept reading. The book realy does tell men, step by easy step, what they can do to to have a better relationship and the stuff she suggests doesn’t cost really any money. I like that it’s really short. If it had been 150 pages I wouldn’t have read it.

I also like that she talks to us like she’s writing for men. It’s not all girley. It’s frank and hilarious and honest. What else could you ask for?

I saw another review that said it used too much bad language. It doesn’t. That’s just dumb. It’s not that she doesn’t use a few curse words, but she doesn’t use them that often and when she does it’s funny and seems to be there to make a point, not just for lack of a better word. This book makes me laugh and my wife is actually happier cause I do stuff from the book’s list. It’s kinda nice having my wife like me again.

Best book I’ve read in a long time October 5, 2011
Wish I’d read this when I was 16. I’d have a hell of alot more money in the bank. Who knew you didn’t have to spend tons of cash on women to get them to like you? I didn’t, but now I do. This book gets straight to the point and tells men how to pull their heads out of their butts when it comes to women. I never realized my head was in my butt until I read this. It’s short, funny, a bit sarcastic–which I loved– and tells men what women think. I’d suggest this book too everyone, including women. I bet women would laugh as they read it.

I’ve already bought my 3 brothers copies for Christmas. I heard the author has another book coming out, but its for women. I know I’ll be buying that for my lady friend. I hope it’s as well written as this one.

I cannot thank Jodi enough October 3, 2011
A friend recommended the book to me, and since it was really reasonably priced I decided to buy a copy. While reading it, I couldn’t help but notice that it all made so much sense. I started off just trying to apply what I had learned in little bits here and there, so as not to seem like such a drastic change for my lady, and literally from day 1 there was a noticeable difference in my lady’s sex drive. Of course when I saw it was working I continued to add in more of Jodi’s advice, and sure enough it just got better and better. I am getting more (and better) sex now than I have had in YEARS. My lady can’t keep her hands off me. Thank you SO MUCH Jodi, you have made me one very happy man!

I think Ms. Ambrose’s motives were pure — she wants people to have happy relationships — and her delivery was perfect.

I love this book. I left a comment on another review (a crazy, wrong, uptight review) but wanted to add one here to. I’ve been married over 40 years and it takes alot of hard work to keep it from being boring. Even with 4 kids and 6 grandkids, life can seem humdrumm. I bought this book because I thought it couldn’t hurt. Not only did it not hurt, it helped an old lady like me rekindle some love with the husband. I read it (even though its made for men) and though it was a laugh riot. I gave it to my husband, who read it on the toilet, and he loved it too. He’s sweeter now, which is all I could ever ask for. He called me pretty yesterday.

This is a fantastic book, a quick read and will make you laugh. Everyone should buy it, even if you arent in a relatinship. You will learn what to do when you are in one if you read this book. I’d give it 6 stars if I could. Money very well spent.

This book makes some excellent points. I think the author is trying way too hard to fit into the guy world though. Tons of swearing, etc. I’m sorry, but if your writing a book- you should at least at like an author and try to come up with other words than the ones you have used. Get creative, that’s why there are SO many words in a dictionary. Great idea though… I’d just like to see a version without all the crude language.

I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard. This chick is hilarious. What I liked most is that she seems to get that women can be insane and that men can be pretty non-observant, but doesn’t criticize either gender. All men should read this book and if you are a man and don’t think you need this book, you do. Every guy could learn something. And hey, if it gets you more “nookie” as the author suggests, isn’t it worth it?

You have to give this a read. If for nothing else, numbers 4, 6, 13 and 19 are the funniest things you’ll ever read.

At the same time it is both sweet and smarmy, sarcastic and sincere. (Yay for alliteration!) I don’t pull punches, so the book just tells it like it is. I think that most people appreciate it when others get straight to the point, and that’s what I do.

While I wrote the book for men, I have gotten tons of wonderful feedback from women too. I’m thrilled that both sexes are getting so much from the book. Enjoy it and much luck and love to you! πŸ™‚

Awesome book! Women really ARENT that difficult February 11, 2011
not only is this book an easy read, its hilarious! its true that the simple things really do make for a GREAT relationship. the book is short and 100% true. lets just say, regardless if youre a man or a woman, if you follow these steps it’ll get you BOTH more πŸ˜‰ and hey, thats good for everyone!

Bottom line…I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to men and women of ANY age. its like successful relationship therapy for only 9 bucks!

Laughed my butt off February 10, 2011
I was happily surprised that a book written for men was so fun a read for women too! This book makes so much sense, it makes me wonder why all guys don’t already know this stuff. But they don’t. Now though, all they have to do is spend a few bucks to get this book and they’ll know all the secrets to women.

I also liked how short it was. I get bored really easily with a lot of books, but this one told me everything I needed to know concisely and with a sense of humor.

THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ FOR BOTH MEN AND WOMEN. You will, without a doubt, learn something new. AND, guys, you’ll learn you don’t have to spend a lot of money on women to make them happy (believe it or not), there are many other things that you can do that don’t cost one red cent.

BUY THIS BOOK. You’ll love it.

  3. I had that happen to me on Barnes and Noble! All my 5 star Reviews for Sweet Savage Blood just vanished leaving me with ZERO stars and that “Be the first to review” message. I was upset, so I know how you feel. Those reviews are everything.

I wrote, I called. It didn’t do any good. Barnes has zero support for authors, although they take (?) 40% of the money. (I should know this exactly but I get mixed up with who takes what. )

Finally, weeks later when someone went to review it, the other reviews came back like magic.

  4. Aw…I love amazon. But I can see how upsetting that would be. 😦 In dealing with customer service for other things, they’ve been great. So I hope this gets resolved for you. Good luck!

    • I’m a total Amazon junkie too. I do about 1/2 my online shopping there. I sure hope they get it fixed. I feel better knowing that you’ve had good luck with their customer service. I hope they treat authors as well. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the kind support! πŸ™‚

    • That is just insane!! As if a friend who reads it can’t have an opinion? Just nuts!! Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate the scoop. I’m going to call them again tomorrow and throw a fit. We’ll see what happens. πŸ™‚

  5. The same thing just happened to me. I lost about 7 really good reviews. I have sent several emails to Amazon and keep getting an automated response. They’re trying to say that the person (s) who wrote the review (s) removed it. One of the reviewers was my sister and she did NOT remove her review. Have you had any luck?

    • I’m having the exact same issue!!! I wanna throw a heavy object!! I get the same automated emails. When I called the first time, the girl told me the same BS as in the email. I said to her, “Somehow I doubt that 24 people, all in the same day, decided to remove reviews that have been posted for a year on books that they loved.” DUH… I’m calling back today to see what I can get worked out. Icky. I’ll post something new if I get it taken care of. Sorry you are going through it too.

      • I notice that you do have reviews for your Sex book, but the Intimacy book doesn’t have any. Let me see if I can help you.

I will read your Intimacy book and review it. Maybe that will kick start the others, like what happened to me on Barnes. You can’t sell books without reviews. You just can’t.

        • I’m pretty sure I’m in love with you!!! Thank you so very, very much. I appreciate you more than you could know!!

This is such a sucky situation because Intimacy used to have 10 5-star reviews and Sex had 26 (25 were 5-star). Now, especially with Intimacy, looks like no one’s ever read my books. It’s just heartbreaking.

Thank you soooooooooo much!!! You sincerely just made my day. I can’t thank you enough. You really are a dear. XOXOXOXOXO

  6. Hey, I understand. I was sooo upset over the loss of my stars for Sweet Savage Blood.

I’m reading your Intimacy book right now. Hilarious! The private potty stuff and the muff advice. You really are a comedian. (And giving excellent advice. This will be an easy five stars.)

    • I REALLY DO LOVE YOU!!! Oh my gosh, I’m so happy you are enjoying it! πŸ™‚ That thrills me to my weird little heart! πŸ™‚ Definitely put a link to Sweet Savage Blood here so others can get to it. I’ll download a copy and give you a review too! πŸ™‚ We authors gotta stick together. πŸ™‚ It’s on Nook, right? I don’t have a Kindle.

Thank you again. You really are a dear. πŸ™‚

  7. Thank you Jodi, I’m sure you’ll see my humor in it. I don’t know if a teen vampire romance is your thing, though.

I gave your book “Intimacy” the 5 star rating it deserved. (I used my old Amazon handle I’ve had since they started.) I also complained to Amazon, as a customer, that there are reviews/stars missing for your books. I explained that we use those reviews to decide whether to purchase, so it’s important they be there.

And I’m happy to help you. You’re a good writer. You deserve it.

    • Oh my gosh, you are just amazing!!! Thank you so much. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it!! πŸ™‚ And I’M SO HAPPY YOU LIKED THE BOOK!!! Woo hoo!! That is awesome! πŸ™‚ (Could I have used more exclamation points? I don’t think it would be possible.)

As for teen vampire stuff, I’m SO IN! Sounds great to me. I’m finishing a book right now. The second I hit the last page, I’m starting on yours. I can’t wait! I know I’ll love it!

      Again, thank you…

  8. Yes, my books are on Amazon (or rather, the one book in three parts.) Is yours on Barnes? I will review it too.

Here’s the response I got from Amazon when I complained about your missing reviews. I’m not happy about it. At. All.

I understand your concerns about these missing reviews. We take the removal of customer
    reviews very seriously.

I’m not able to tell you why these specific reviews were removed from our website. I can
only discuss that with the person who wrote each review. However, I can tell you that
reviews are removed from the website for three reasons:

    1. The review conflicted with our posted guidelines
    2. The review was removed at the request of the customer who submitted the review.
    3. We discovered that multiple items were linked together on our website incorrectly.
Reviews that were posted on those pages were removed when the items were separated on the

I hope this information helps. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Thank you for your inquiry. Did I solve your problem?”

I’m pretty sure it’s NONE of those. Here’s what the real reason was: their website had a glitch and they don’t want to correct it.

    Sorry!! 😦

    • I will definitely review them on both sites! πŸ™‚ I’m on Barnes and Noble too. You are such a dear to put reviews on both sites. My B&N always gets neglected because so many people only use Amazon. I really appreciate it! I have about 200 pages left in the book I’m currently reading, then it’s off to your awesome books! πŸ™‚

As for your Amazon email, that is the exact one I got 4 DAMN times! It makes me wanna find them and do bad things. πŸ˜‰ No, Amazon, you are not helpful. Your email sucks. Your customer service is horribly lacking. Thanks for ruining my books sales by making it seem like the thousands who’ve bought my book actually haven’t bought it because there are almost no reviews. Ugh.

If I manage to get anywhere with them, I’ll give you the scoop. The 2 people I’ve spoken with on the phone were no help, and clearly their emails are form letters. We may just be screwed. Luckily, you and I are helping each other out. We rule! πŸ˜‰

  9. I have read the book, and reviewed it. This is the review I put on Amazon and Barnes & Noble:

Although I am a divorced man, I thought I would get this book on the off chance that I may meet someone else. I must say, had this book been available six years ago, it would have saved my marriage. Everything the author says in this book hits the nail on the head.

She doesn’t mince words, and some bits are laugh out loud and spit your drink out funny. She has made a book that tells you how to save a relationship, and made it completely readable with a list. As long as you follow that list then you can’t go wrong (unless you have a psycho b*tch from hell in which case you have no chance).

Her other book is written for women on how the man’s mind work, but I am going to get it anyway so I can compare her book with what is in my head. I hope she is writing other books.

THIS IS A MUST READ!!! (Especially if you want more sex)

  10. I did a review for Intimacy on Barnes and Goodreads. Honestly, now that I think about it, I’ve never heard or read anyone say some of the things you do, like the muff list. Not only is it hilarious, but you’re right on.

    • OH MY GOSH!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I’m so dang pleased that you liked it!!!! The muff list. πŸ˜‰ Hee hee hee… πŸ™‚ I’m so damn thankful. I’ll put my reviews of yours on all 3 (Amazon, B&N and Good reads) too. πŸ™‚ XOXOXOXXO THANK YOU!

  11. Do you have a giveaway listed on Goodreads for one or more of your books? If you don’t, then you should. It’s great FREE publicity (well, the cost of a book or two) There’s a couple tricks I learned about it and I will share if you want to do that.

    • I would LOVE your tricks!! I’ve been wanting to do something like that but didn’t really know the best way to go about it. That would be WONDERFUL!! You are such a sweetheart! Have I told you that yet today??? πŸ™‚ XOXO

  12. Okay, here’s what you do. I think it’s harder than hell to find anything on that Goodreads website so I have every possible page bookmarked, my blog, my book, my giveaway page.

    1) Go to Goodreads logged in as you the author. Are you a Goodreads author? If not, join their program.

    2) Go to the link called “Explore”. It has a tiny down arrow that gives you a menu. Click on “Giveaways”. From there you’ll see a short green text list on right hand side that starts with “Previous winners”. The second one is “List a giveaway” . That link takes you to a page to fill in to get a giveaway started. It gives you the impression your book must be newly released, but I’ve seen books on giveaways that are years old, like Turned. That’s been out over a year. So Ignore.

3)) List your book for as long as the system allows. (A year?) Why? because members who sign up for your book giveaway accumulate in the thousands within a few months. You’ll end up on the top of the “most requested” list for giveaways. (Another way to get your book plugged.)

    4) Now, you can get away with just offering one book if you want. I gave away 10, but WARNING, Goodreads picks the winners, and they don’t care if the winners they choose are members who don’t review books. One of my winners had ZERO reviews, so a lot of good that does me. He reads my book for free and I get nothing.

    5) As the giveaway goes on, you’re going to get a daily, accumulating list of members who signed-up for your giveaway. You can ask to be their friends. You can make notes on who has a blog or who has the 1000 followers and send those people a free copy to review. wink wink

    6) Goodreads is huge for books. Trust me. I got most of my interest/sales from Goodreads. I had hundreds of people adding my book to their “to read” list from one, one-month long giveaway. And some bought it, they didn’t want to wait to possibly win.

If you have any questions, you can email me directly at carolina courtland @ yahoo . com. (no spaces.)

I will help you in any way I can. : )

    • I just cannot believe how FREAKING AWESOME YOU ARE!!!!!!!!! I’m telling ya, I am so thankful for your help! I just signed up to giveaway 5 copies of each book. Your help was perfect!!!! I would NOT have known what to do without you. Goodreads is confusing as hell and you made it all so easy!!! πŸ™‚

Oh, and just so ya know, I’m halfway through your first book and LOVE IT!! I read it last night until I fell asleep and my Nook crashed down onto my face! πŸ™‚ It’s just great. You are a wonderful storyteller!! As soon as I finish, I’ll post reviews everywhere! πŸ™‚

      Tons of love to you!

  13. I’m glad you like my book cause that would have been awkward for you. You would have felt obligated to give it a good rating….but thought it sucked, what would you do? LOL

Your giveaway is going to get a lot of attention to your book. I’m glad you were able to get that started. πŸ™‚

Remember, I’m here to help you. Just ask.

    • Whew…right?? It’s really captivating! I just love it. And I like the character names. The whole book rocks. πŸ™‚

I’m so excited about the goodreads giveaway! I had NO idea they did that and NEVER would have found it on my own. πŸ™‚ I have it set to start on July 1st, hoping I can get more reviews on the Intimacy book before that since Amazon raped my reviews. Jerks! That whole mess still isn’t worked out.

Again, I really appreciate your help.

    • Yet another thing I didn’t know! πŸ™‚ Right now I’m on Kindle select and can’t sell the books digitally anywhere else. Once my 3 month trial period is over, I’m going to put the books back on the Nook and sign them up on Goodreads. Yet again, THANK YOU!!! πŸ™‚

  14. Oh, you got into Kindle Select? Well, they push it hard enough. Is it paying off?

Also, I don’t know if you are aware, there is an ebook distributor who will put your ebook EVERYWHERE and only take 4.5% of total sales. Smashwords takes like 15%. We’re talking Google Play, ITunes for Apple. Kobo, Sony Reader, etc. I will tell you more if you are interested. Their book app is sweet, the pages look like real pages when they are turned.
