I am soooooooooooooooooooooo happy to tell you that my new cookbook is available as of this morning! Woo hoo!!!
For those of you who haven’t heard me talk about it before, here’s the blurb from the back of the book so that you know that it’s a cookbook with a rather different spin on cooking. 🙂
Whether you love to cook or would rather starve than spend time in a kitchen, Darn Good Eats: The Cookbook for Creative Chefs and Reluctant Cooks is for you!
Reluctant Cook and author Jodi Ambrose teamed up with her Creative Chef husband, Grant, to bring you a cookbook with an unusual twist. Darn Good Eats provides scrumptious recipes for both the kitchen aficionado and the bumbling cook. Pooling together all of their combined kitchen savvy, they’ve created a cookbook that applies to anyone and everyone.
Along with a list of must-have items for your kitchen, helpful measurement conversions, delightful personal anecdotes and a witty sense of humor, this cookbook delivers over 70 delectable and inspired recipes for both the kitchen novice and cooking expert. You no longer have to be a good cook to make great food.
So that it’s easy to navigate, the cookbook is split into two parts. The first part is for Creative Chefs who love, or at least like, to cook. It contains tantalizing recipes which range from simple to challenging and are bound to be crowd-pleasers. The second part is for people who prefer eating over cooking and find the kitchen to be more of a chore than a delight. The Reluctant Cook will now have a wonderful array of options for making “homemade” meals that (shhh…don’t tell) in some cases are far from homemade, but are still mouthwateringly delicious.
Whether you love or hate the kitchen, Darn Good Eats: The Cookbook for Creative Chefs and Reluctant Cooks has plenty of tasty recipes to please even the most discerning palate. We know that you’ll enjoy both the food and fun contained within this cookbook and we wish for you many happy and delicious meals.
I’ve published both a full-color interior version and a black & white interior version so that it’s affordable for everyone and if you want to get some as holiday presents you have a choice on which one to get. Both have the full-color cover.
As of right now, you can get them at Amazon as printed books. In the near future, they’ll be available for the Kindle and Nook, but formatting them (especially with bullets and numbered lists) is a NIGHTMARE and takes forever. You’d think that Kindle and Nook would have figured out how to properly format something so simple by now. Over the next couple of months, the black & white interior version will be available online at Barnes & Noble and other places, but you can get them at Amazon today.
Here’s the link to the color version on Amazon: CLICK HERE TO GET A COPY
Here’s the link to the black & white version on Amazon: CLICK HERE TOO!
I hope you guys love the cookbook! My hubby and I worked very hard to bring you the recipes that we love the most, with just a little bit of sass thrown in the mix. No worries though. For a change of pace there are no F-bombs in one of my books. 😉 This one is rated G.
Hugs!! Enjoy!!!
Yeah for you! I’m not a “foodie” but I’ll tell my “foodie” friends all about it!

Can I get it in a Barnes and Noble actual store today?? Not that I can anyway, there’s been some trouble here but that’s another blog post.

Hey doll! Nope, no Barnes and Noble yet. It takes a few months for it to get to other distributors. Right now it’s just on Amazon. Just so you know, I won’t have my own copies until November 20th. I have NO damn clue why it takes Amazon so long to send me copies of my own book. Turdheads! Once I have them in my greedy little paws, I’ll send you one. 🙂 Love ya!

You know, that really sucks! And it’s YOUR cookbook, why don’t they just give you it?? I don’t understand business, I guess. I’m going to order it today, but I still want you to send me a copy. Would you sign it so I know you really exist, lol!!

I KNOW!! Stupid Amazon. I’ll happily sign it for you to prove I’m real! 😉 It would be my pleasure, dear.

That just warms my heart. 🙂 Oh, and just so you know, I’m about halfway done with the interview doc you sent me (thanks again for that!). All I’ve been doing the last 2 weeks is working the day job til my brain hurts and then editing proof after proof after proof of the cookbook. My mind is blurry I’ve read that 200 page book so many times! Words have ceased to make sense to me. 🙂 XOXOXO

Doesn’t editing drive you bonkers! I’d swear that every time it was edited by me and others that it was perfect, then I’d get another proof and find more stuff to fix. ARGH!!! 🙂 I’ll get the interview to you as soon as I can. I really appreciate the interview and the blogging exposure. It means so much to me. 🙂

Well, my book was picked up by an publisher, so I was working with an editor, but I had to rewrite a lot of stuff, in line with some suggestions she made. And it came out amazingly better. It was like, after she pointed some things out, the lights came on, and I was at it. I think the word she used that I’ll remember always was “WOW”. That felt good. But yeah, writing it the first time is one helluva lot easier than the second…or third…

I’m really proud of you!!! Yay!!! Being picked up by a publisher is awesome!! So happy for you. I’m glad your editor was helpful. Sometimes, getting that fresh set of eyes can really help. Let me know the moment it’s available and I’ll blog about it to everyone. 🙂 Hugs!

The color one really does rock, I have to admit. When my mom saw it yesterday she grabbed at the beer battered fish recipe pic and started making hungry yum yum noises. It cracked me up!
You really are a doll. 🙂

Yay, very cool!!! You must be super excited!! 🙂 I still don’t get why those people have trouble getting books on e-readers. Nowadays, everything’s done electronically so what the F! Not that it matters in this case, would rather have a paperback cookbook. 😀 😀
LikeLike
You know, I’m a paperback cookbook girl too. Everything else I get on either my Kindle or my Fire, but I always want a tangible cookbook. Something about turning the pages, perusing the recipes, sitting it on the counter and dripping goo all over them. A cookbook needs to look used! 🙂
I too can’t figure out why the digital people can’t figure out how to make formatting easy. I have to go through all 200 pages and re-do all the bulleted lists and numbered lists. I also have to reformat all the pictures and fonts and insert page breaks. And it STILL won’t look good! It makes me wanna pull my hair out! So, it’s definitely gonna take me a few weeks. 🙂 Hopefully, most people will be like us and like the hard copy better anyway. 🙂
LikeLike
Aw, I think most people will agree. Who wants their Nook/Kindle to get goo on it? Not that I want goo on an actual book either…I’m obsessed with keeping books clean and crease-free, lol. I wouldn’t stress too much about fixing it for e-readers. HARD copies are a must. 😀
LikeLike
My hubby’s cookbooks are so covered in goo that for Christmas I’m giving him a new copy of one of his favorites so that it’s actually readable!! You’d have a heart attack if you could see it. Filthy!! 🙂

Haha! So…I just ordered my copy! Perfect timing too because I was gonna buy something a few days ago, but the total wasn’t $25 meaning no free shipping. So I was like, dang, what else can I buy? Couldn’t think of anything til now…so great timing. Thanks! 😀

That freaking rocks!!!! Yay!!! I did the SAME thing with Amazon because that free shipping is awesome. I actually just became a prime member, so I don’t have to do the $25 thing anymore. I was spending tons of money to get up to $25 to save $4 on shipping. Good grief.
Hope you love it!!! 🙂
